Overnight Green Salad

Well, it is summertime and the parties just keep coming. I made this yummy salad for a party we went to on Saturday night. I love it so much, I wanted to share it with you.



Overnight Green Salad
Aunt Judy gave this recipe to Lorri Overson who gave it to you.

1 Cup celery, chopped
1 medium head lettuce, sliced
¼ Cup green onions or chives, chopped (optional)
1 can water chestnuts, sliced
1 16 oz. package frozen peas, thawed

Layer all ingredients in a 9 x 13 inch cake pan or casserole dish.

Topping

2 Cups mayonnaise
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. season-all-salt
¼ tsp. garlic powder

Mix together and spread evenly on salad. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and a few chives. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
